King Arthur's history and legend is intimately linked to the magic and mystery of this sword, "Excalibur". As Merlin the wizard proclaimed, "Only one shall be able to pull the sword from the stone, and he shall be king!" As legend has it, Arthur knelt in front of the stone, fulfilled this gallant deed, took the sword to the cathedral and offered it at the altar. Arthur was anointed with the Sacred Oil and in presence of barons and common people alike solemnly swore to be a fair king and to defend Truth and Justice all the days of his life. Legend and history were mixed throughout time and King Arthur's legend "The Knights of the Round Table", and the magic sword "Excalibur" have intertwined along the way.
This Sword's overall length is 45." It's handle length is 9", and it's blade length measures 35", with a weight of 5 lbs. The blade material is high polished 420C stainless steel tempered to 45-50 HRC. It's handle is made with a metal cast with 24k gold plated pommel and hanguard, with a leather wrapped handle.
